SILENZIO_eternal loopholes and braided line / 32. Biennial of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana 2017
SILENZIO_eternal loopholes and braided lines has been conceived around the perception of “silence” and developed around a new kinetic sculpture. The sculpture and its movement are extended through performance: gesture, sound, and spoken word. These elements coexist and form a state of perception; through a growing patteren and process of attempts and errors, the loops cooperate to build up fleeting moments of oneness.
The result is a choreography: the single parts come together in the “culmen” of the development, a condition of accord where the structured assemblage of the parts assumes its own consistency. In Meta Grgurevič's work there’s always a state of being active, since “absolute silence” doesn’t exist in nature (in Latin silèntium, from silère “to be quiet,” an activity). The essence of Silenzio is this active suspension.

...As they all stand there, one goes to the other side, opens a window and lets the razor cold wind to enter the room. The table still awaits the poet to write his book, the conductor looks for his instruments as she is blindfolded and hears nothing...

Sweet, sweet loopholes of my mind, reflected deep in you, as we braid our hair into one, in hope we will not separate, like this...
...Monkeys look frightend by the eagerness of the ongoing conversation, so they move to the other side. Wings are still motionless but hanging above the missing grounds. Monkeys gather around their imaginary center and embark on a series of gestural conversations. Both bodies, the consulting and the creative, move in order to create a triangular composition above the missing ground...
...Stupidity, oh stupidity, walks outside with big black boots, crushing everything in the valley and threatheing to come around here soon. As they all hear the menacing beats of the boots, they gather into one body, whispering frightendly to each other, whispers turn into a histerical but melodic ‘canto’. This canto then takes over the whole room...
...Let me be the sound to your dreams, le me be the music to your dance moves, let me be the words of your book, let me be the lines of your movie...
...‘Where can we go now, where can we flee now? Nobody is ready to fight, nobody wants to fight, we do not have the right tools, we do not have the right tools! Nobody is willing to fight!’ all members shout in fear, gathering in different spots and fearing their own shadows...(JAŠA)
